Prosperous 2009 to all! :-)

The New Year has started and so let me use the opportunity to thank all the readers for popping in and spending time to read my blog! Special thanks to all those who have left constructive comments and want to interact with my musings on my life in and perception of England! I started the blog at the end of April last year and since then there have been over 6000 views of it! I’m not a very experienced blogger and so, I am not sure whether it’s a lot or not, objectively speaking. Yet, I am pleasantly surprised to see that many people are actually interested in following my daily adventures in the land of Shakespeare, loved by some and hated by others. One thing we can surely conclude, the United Kingdom of Great Britain is anything but ignored. It is like one of its inventions, the famous Marmite, you either love it or hate it! I have to say that there are more things I love about the UK than I hate about it, which, I suppose, makes me:

However, I will never pretend that Marmite is sweet. Likewise, I am not ready to indulge in blind fascination with all that is British. Life here, like anywhere else in the world, is NOT perfect and I will keep on writing about it as such, pointing to those things that I find imperfect, but not forgetting about those I enjoy 🙂

Again, let me wish you all:

happy-new-year-hi5-25… and keep on visiting my blog and posting interesting comments! 🙂

  1. Happy new year to you too. It’s always interesting to read your comments on a country that I actually left quite a while ago. Indeed, you keep me up to date with many things, and offer an angle that is difficult to find in the traditional British media.

  2. Hi there Adam! 🙂 One day I’ll create a hall of fame for most faithful posters on my blog and you’ll surely have a prominent place in there! 😉 Keep on posting your comments as they are valuable to me!

  3. A few weeks ago, I was in a Yorkshire hotel with a Polish lawyer, having breakfast. Onto his plate he piled croissants, marmalade, jam, Nutella and… Marmite. Should I have told him not to smear the latter on with the rest?

A bit like Americans in Edinburgh being invited to take part in a haggis hunt:-)

  4. So, did the lawyer like his Marmite mix? 😉
